A pallet of soft seafoam hues emerged as the key color message of the season. Popular in the 50s and into the pastels-obsessed 60s, seafoam hues were a fresh color for everything from cotton day dresses to formal eveningwear in slick, sturdy fabrics like duchesse satin. Designers opted for both pale and saturated versions of this aquatic hue, in both smooth cottons and fancy jacquards.
