For Resort/Pre-Spring 2012, Stylesight analyzes the big fashion color statements that define the season at retail. Color, from chalky pastels to mid-tone ceramics and crayon brights to electric neons, emerges as the dominant theme for the season. Neutral base colors soften this seasons bright hues with warm and cool shades of sand and adobe and creamy whites layered for depth. Blues emerge as a singular story, inspired by Japanese indigos and antique English blue and white china. Elements of each palette are swapped to customize floorsets, with pastels and neon combinations leading the deliveries.
Just a sneak peak at some of our spring collections. Black and white played a major role, as well as neon, color blocking and lots of Lace! Stay tuned for our action packed, behind the scenes video!
Tangerine Tango is the new color of the year according to Pantone. Accents of light and darker shades are popping up in all sorts of accessories and apparel.
A pallet of soft seafoam hues emerged as the key color message of the season. Popular in the 50s and into the pastels-obsessed 60s, seafoam hues were a fresh color for everything from cotton day dresses to formal eveningwear in slick, sturdy fabrics like duchesse satin. Designers opted for both pale and saturated versions of this aquatic hue, in both smooth cottons and fancy jacquards.
